Bell spends week at No. 1 RG

Ole Miss offensive linemen were definitely the iron men a year ago, but that wasn’t necessarily by design.

Justin Bell was ready to play and did play some before a back injury slow him down. With only one starting spot open on the OL, Patrick Junen was not way out in front of Bell, and Junen has yet to practice.

If Bell wins the job — and if Aaron Morris is properly motivated after his demotion to second team — he will start alongside Morris, his former teammate at Jackson’s Callaway High School.

No word on when Junen might return. He’ll get a shot at the job too. Whoever does not win that job will be well equipped to provide solid depth at either guard spot. Junen can also play tackle.

Freshman Austin Golson could be in that rotation as well.
