I arrived a short while ago in Austin where the forecast calls for 100 percent chance of Hot.
It was an Ole Miss-dominated plane ride from Atlanta to Austin and should be a strong turnout for the Rebels tomorrow night.
At the moment, neither the Rebels nor the fans know which Texas quarterback they’ll see. Longhorns starter David Ash, who passed for 326 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions against Ole Miss last year, has not been ruled out. News coverage from Austin this week indicated that a decision on Ash would be made near game time.
From the Mother ship, if Ash doesn’t play senior Case McCoy will start, and the Rebels could get a dose of a hefty dual threat quarterback in freshman Tyrone Swoopes.
There’s a clearer quarterback picture for Ole Miss, and it’s a good picture — as long as Bo Wallace stays healthy. Its a quick trip to uncertainty after that. If something were to happen to Wallace the Rebels would likely turn to a freshman too — in some capacity.
From the Mother Ship, my column from earlier in the week on the Ole Miss QB situation.
