Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy met with local folks to discuss the 2013-2014 season today.
There’s only one real story line right now, and it’s Marshall Henderson. An NCAA team lost its two most important frontcourt players from last year. It returns the SEC’s leading scorer, but he’s suspended.
Players were not available today, and most of the questions Kennedy fielded were related to Henderson, who he says has done the things “demanded” of him since his July suspension.
A few other notes.
Kennedy says Aaron Jones (ACL) and Demarco Cox (foot) have both responded well from their injuries, and both have been cleared for full practice, as has freshman wing Janari Joesaar.
Kennedy said Jones got a lot of training done while he rehabbing his knee and has gone from 205 to 220.
Cox is at 275 and show no effects of the stress fracture, Kennedy says.
Today’s shootaround was open, and we were allowed to shoot video. You can see here that Henderson has let his hair grow. You can also see that he never acknowledged us which means he was either coached up before we arrived, or he’s working to change his approach to media.
