Tuesday Practice Update

Not much new to report from a Tuesday football practice.

CJ Johnson is in a boot. He’s not going to see much of the practice field this week, but they’re going to try and get him ready for Auburn.

Robert Nkemdiche (finger) and Donte Moncrief (shoulder) should be good to go.

Here’s Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze:

We did hear from defensive coordinator Dave Wommack who had some interesting things to say about Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall. Basically, he didn’t think Marshall was a very good passer after he watched Auburn’s opening game against Washington State, but he says Marshall has steadily improved.

Marshall is a mobile guy, and Southern Miss transfer Anthony Alford, a quarterback at USM who has been moved to safety at Ole Miss, is giving the Rebels a good look in scout team work.

We also spoke with offensive line coach Matt Luke, who says Laremy Tunsil is really playing at high level, so much so that left tackle Emmanuel McCray will be playing inside some at guard.
