Tuesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

There was lots of conversation at Hugh Freeze’s presser Monday about freshman quarterback Devante Kincade.

Freeze was clear that he wouldn’t burn Kincade’s redshirt if Barry Brunetti is able to go. Brunetti, the Rebels’ backup quarterback, aggravated a shoulder injury against Texas A&M. He’ll go through the week of treatment, and a decision will be made later regarding his status for LSU.

Judging from his Twitter account on Monday, Kincade sounded like a guy who is perfectly content to redshirt:

From Columbia, Missouri coach Gary Pinkel took ESPN and others to task for injury reports on the status of quarterback James Franklin. Franklin could be back for the Nov. 23 Ole Miss game and possibly before. …

Arkansas AD Jeff Long has been named the first chairman of the college football playoff selection committee.

With an under-achieving defense, Georgia remains in the thick of the SEC East title hunt, Athens’ Marc Weiszer says …

From College Station, Brent Zwerneman says that considering the Aggies’ upcoming schedule another late-game comeback at Ole Miss could once against launch them into the upper tier of the nation’s elite.

In non-football news and in a move that isn’t totally surprising, the SEC appears poised to make Nashville the home for the men’s basketball tournament for at least the next 12 years. Nashville has been able to lock this up in spite of its poor effort at media parking. ..

Media shouldn’t be treated any different than any other person attending. There are too many media as it is. Maybe if they start charging you guys for tickets and parking, there won’t be so many so-called reporters around. If you have a blog on facebook now, you’re considered media. Most of them are over-weight, so, I think it’ll be good for them to walk.

There’s always Ratliff at backup QB if Bo or Brunetti are not able to play. He knows the playbook.

#13 Robert Ratliff QB 6′ 2″ 217 lbs. (Redshirt Senior)
