Freeze on SEC Teleconference

Highlights from Hugh Freeze’s time on the SEC teleconference …

Opening statement

We’re very thrilled to come off a big home win against LSU, the respect we have for that program makes that victory that much sweeter coming off the disappointing gut-wrenching loss we had the week before.

The gauntlet of games we’ve gone through with four of them being on the road has proven to take a bit of a toll on us physically. Hopefully we can get through this week and find a way to win this game, then move into the open week and get some people healthy for the stretch run.

On Idaho coach Paul Petrino

The job he’s done offensively at the places he’s been has always been very impressive to me. He does a great job of keeping you off balance and make you defend run and pass. Times this year on film he looks very excited to watch and difficult to defense. We’re certainly not taking anything for granted. He certainly has answers for the things you’re doing, because I’ve experienced it.

On inside running vs. LSU

I’d say if you compare our films the answer would be yes that we did run more inside. It’s something we always carry. We haven’t done as much of it. People had been playing us differently. It’s not something … not because of their personnel that we felt we would be superior to, for sure, but felt if they did certain things within their scheme to take away our wide game that we would have a chance to be successful.
