Tuesday Practice Update

It’s open week which meant more focus on the Rebels today, less an the next team up, which is Arkansas on Nov. 9.

Temps today were not the cool we’ve seen of late, but it was pleasant, and players looked like they were having fun.

Here’s Hugh Freeze:

We saw more reps for freshman QBs Devante Kincade and Ryan Buchanan today. That’s to be expected, but it was particularly true with Bo Wallace out with pink eye.

Cody Core had a nice catch — a physical catch with freshman Bobby Hill covering — of a deep ball thrown by Buchanan.

As far as injuries, a lot of guys are being held out whether they’d be able to play in a Saturday game or not.

Robert Nkemdiche and Issac Gross were doing some supervised running on the upper practice field during part of the workout.

I didn’t see Denzel Nkemdiche out. Mike Hilton was in attendance but wasn’t participating.

All in all Freeze seemed pleased with the work.

I have not have seen either of the freshman QBs Devante Kincade and Ryan Buchanan play. It seems from what I have heard, both these guys are very good. Both these fellows sound like very good recruiting catches.

Kincade had a little better August than Buchanan, I thought, but more was invested in Kincade as well. They were getting him ready to play though they chose to try to redshirt him, and they’ve been able to do so to this point. I don’t expect that will change.
