Also from NFL.com, Jadeveon Clowney wasn’t very happy about going sackless against Mississippi State. He was pleased with another home win for the Gamecocks and says he expects a similar result when Florida visits Williams-Brice Stadium. …

Arkansas received a bit of an injury scare against Auburn with two key offensive players — freshman RB Alex Collins and QB Brandon Allen — but both are expected to play against Ole Miss.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema denied that “gamesmanship” was motivation in using a swinging gate play on a fake field goal attempt against Auburn. During the week Bielema had complained that scouting video provided by Auburn did not include its own use of the same formation.

Arkansas AD Jeff Long, chair of next year’s CFB playoff committee, says he’s happy with the Razorbacks and not interested in taking the vacant AD position at Texas as had been rumored. The leading candidate for the Longhorns appears to be West Virginia AD Oliver Luck.

From Tuscaloosa, Alabama hopes to remain steady with third-down defense this week against LSU. That success will depend in large part on what the Tide can do with LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who says he’s ready for the Tide’s press coverages. …

From Athens, the Georgia Bulldogs are feeling good about themselves after holding off Florida and earning a third-straight win in their rivalry series. …
