Big Picture: The Rebels escaped their first two Marshall Henderson suspension games unscathed … if you want to count the exhibition game against SC-Aiken.
Henderson returns in a week.
Turning Point: Jarvis Summers fueled a 13-0 run as Ole Miss built a 24-11 lead roughly 11 minutes into the fist half.
Who’s Your Daddy: Summers hit his first seven shots and was 4-for-4 from 3-point range in the first half. He finished a career-high 28 points, 22 of them in the first half. The problem was the rest of the team was rather weak offensively in the first half. Summers was 9-for-11, and the Rebels still shot just 37.2 percent in the half. The other guys were 9-for-32.
Of Interest: Martavious Newby is playing much more under control this season and turned in another nice night of hustle plays. He finished with five rebounds and three steals. He had 12 rebounds in the exhibition. Aaron Jones still looks rusty offensively but had a game-high 13 rebounds.
Next Up: The Rebels are at Coastal Carolina next Saturday.
Here’s Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy:

Tip is in about 20 minutes. Marshall Henderson was out a few minutes ago interacting with the student section.
The Ole Miss women reversed a terrible first half to start the Matt Insell Era with an 83-62 win.
