Focus on third downs

More success on third down was a talking point for Bo Wallace at Monday’s press conference.

Wallace talked about the focus he and offensive coordinator Dan Werner place on that particular down and on making sure Wallace is comfortable with the play that’s called.

Co-OC and OL coach Matt Luke, who spoke in place of head coach Hugh Freeze on Monday, thinks Wallace has been pretty good on third downs.

The Ole Miss run game had taken a big step forward with its tackle-to-tackle gains before running into Arkansas, which limited the Rebels to 2.9 yards per attempt and their lowest rushing output since the Alabama game.
