Big Picture: The Rebels have beaten teams they are supposed to beat. The schedule amps up later this week when the Rebels take on Georgia Tech Friday at 3:30 in the Barclays Center Classic in Brooklyn. They will face either St. John’s or Penn State on Saturday.
Turning Point: Ole Miss was ahead by 11 when it went on a 15-0 run in the second half. The run began with a Derrick Millinghaus 3-pointer and end with back-to-back 3s by Anthony Perez.
Who’s Your Daddy: Millinghaus led all scorers with 16 points. He was 3-for-6 from the arc with four assists and no turnovers. … Aaron Jones had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Of Interest: Marshall Henderson played only 13 minutes, just 1 minute in the second half. Kennedy said that was because A&T was playing a box-and-one, and he wanted to draw them out of that, saying they would be in a different defense if Henderson wasn’t in the game. … Demarco Cox played some solid post defense, but Sebastian Saiz and Dwight Coleby are going to have to help this team in the post, and they’re going to have to get much stronger physically to do that. … The Rebels still need to get more from LaDarius White, who had two points, five rebounds, three assists and four turnovers in 22 minutes. White went into the game averaging 5.7 points, not much for a guy who was considered a candidate to be a second or third scorer at the beginning of the season.
Next Up: It’s the Barclays this weekend followed by a road trip to Kansas State on Dec. 5.
