Another Arkansas State transition

It’s December, and Arkansas State football is in a familiar position.

For the third-straight season the Red Wolves earned at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference championship, and for the third-straight season they’ll be looking for a new coach.

The Idaho Statesman and others are reporting that ASU coach Bryan Harsin, who replaced Gus Malzahn, who replaced Hugh Freeze, will be the next Boise State coach.

Freeze was 10-2 at Arkansas State in 2011 and won the Sun Belt outright with an 8-0 conference record. Five of his assistant coaches — Tom Allen, Maurice Harris, Grant Heard, Chris Kiffin and Dave Wommack — coached with him in Jonesboro.

This from Jonesboro’s KAIT.

And this piece from CoachingSearch.com throws out some early names to watch in connection with the Arkansas State job. Lots of Ole Miss connections here.
