Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has been named SEC Freshman of the Year by the league’s coaches.
The Crete, Ill., native led SEC freshman wide receivers with 67 catches for 557 yards.
He averaged 46.4 yards per game, and his 67 catches ranked him third among all conference receivers. Treadwell had five touchdown catches and is the only SEC freshman to rank among the league’s top 15 in catches and catches per game.
Treadwell’s 67 grabs led Ole Miss receivers and were 14 more than Donte Moncrief who was second on the team with 53.
Moncrief, though, led the Rebels in receiving yards with 825 and tied Treadwell for the team lead with five receiving touchdowns.
