Meridian defensive star C.J. Hampton has been listed as an Ole Miss commit for some time. Many believe he’ll flip to Alabama. He say he’ll announce on Friday at 5:30. His post on his Twitter page says he’ll have a presser at Meridian High and that ALL MEDIA ARE INVITED. 

That’s the first time I’ve ever been invited somewhere in all caps. Whatever happens with Hampton, he’s been a guy who has thoroughly enjoyed the recruiting process, and it may or may not end for him with whatever he announces Friday. …

So where does Ed land? Pete Roussel at CoachingSearch.com takes a shot at that and mentions defensive coordinator at Miami and head coach at La.-Lafayette as possibilities.

I’ve spoken with people in Louisiana who believe Ed has an eye on U-La-La and might be the biggest fan of career advancement for Cajuns coach Mark Hudspeth. …

Mississippian Marcus Dupree had quite a story with his recruiting and college career. He talks recruiting here in this Nola.com video with one of the hottest names among high school seniors — St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette.

Also from New Orleans, the city was out-bid for the 2016 national championship game by the Glendale, AZ group. …
