From Tuscaloosa, this billboard makes fun of Texas fans after Nick Saban signed an extension with the Crimson Tide. In his first news conference since agreeing to the extension, Saban had little to say about the Texas affair, instead referring questions to ESPN.

As I watched Auburn shred that Missouri defense I kept thinking, this bunch is pretty good.

After last year’s debut season in the SEC — a 5-7 mark — Missouri seemed to more intent on repairing its reputation from 2012 than Auburn, which was 0-8 in the league last year. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s what it seemed like.

Missouri already had come into the league with a chip on its shoulder with all the “Oh my goodness you’re in the SEC questions” that Gary Pinkel and players received at 2012 media days. Then came a sub-500 season.

I was impressed with the Missouri team I saw in Oxford and was surprised that defense wasn’t more competitive against an Auburn team that is clearly playing at a higher level than when it defeated Ole Miss 30-22 in early October.

Apparently Missouri players — again — think they have something to prove. …
