A few notes from today’s practice …

There continue to be great emphasis on the cut-block drill. It carries a risk of injury, but the Rebels are going through it a full speed. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says he’s been tempted to blow it dead several times but has not. It’s a must to be successful in defending the option, he says. …

Offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil continues to work in the pool and remains questionable. Tight end Evan Engram is expected to be released for participation on Dec. 26, Freeze said. …

Freshman tight Christian Morgan missed this season with a knee injury and has decided to end his football career. Freeze said Morgan made that decision about a week ago. Morgan, a four-star prospect from Plano, Texas, may pursue his education at Ole Miss.
