Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy talks about the Rebels’ matchup with LSU here.
A few items of interest. Marshall Henderson will go straight back to the starting five. “We’re going to play our best guys,” Kennedy said. No big surprise there, but Henderson did come off the bench for several games at the start of the season after being suspended for the opener against Troy.
While Kennedy spoke of more playing time for young post players after the loss at Mississippi State, he’s spoken in softer tones on that subject since then. He says he’s still evaluating that situation and says he hasn’t given up on Demarco Cox as part of the solution. He’s had conversations with Cox.
“I’m trying. Demarco’s heart’s in the right place. He’s got a big, strong, physical body. Ultimately it comes down to production. I demand of him what I demand of all our frontcourt guys, defend, give us a presence in the paint, rebound the ball and make layups and free throws. I don’t think that’s very demanding. Sometimes it’s easier said than done,” Kennedy said.
Much more here:
One of those candidates for more minutes is freshman Sebastian Saiz.
“I came here to play. I’m ready,” Saiz says.
More from Saiz tomorrow.
