It appears Ole Miss guard Martavious Newby had his surgery yesterday. This from Newby on Twitter Sunday afternoon:

Newby broke his hand Saturday against Mississippi State. Andy Kennedy calls his loss a major blow for the Rebels.

It is in the sense that it takes away from Kennedy that something different that he can insert off the bench, that high energy guy. Newby is averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.3 minutes a game. …

All three said this weekend’s official visit to #OleMiss reaffirmed their commitments. They don’t plan on taking anymore visits.

Alvin and Calvin are the brothers from Bassfield. Rivals rates Calvin as a two-star athlete and Alvin as a three-star outside linebacker. Evans is a three-star defensive end from Dallas. …
