The day that was

Hopefully it’s a better news day for Ole Miss today. It was a busy news day at Ole Miss yesterday, and that wasn’t good.

There were the football arrests of Denzel Nkemdiche and Serderius Bryant, but that paled in comparison to news that the James Meredith statue was vandalized. A $25,000 reward has been offered for the arrest of two men involved.

Ole Miss offensive lineman Emmanuel McCray, now a graduate, was one of the best quotes I’ve covered on the beat.

That doesn’t only mean that he can turn a phrase. He put thought into his answers, and he put his thoughts on Twitter Monday night.

This was just one in a lengthy and hopefully productive dialogue in which a number of fans participated.
