Rebels, Warhawks at 4 today, tomorrow

The research of Bill Bunting from Ole Miss media relations has turned up a few interesting facts on Alma Mater U.

The Rebels and Louisiana-Monroe play today and tomorrow, both games at 4.

Ole Miss will pitch sophomore Jacob Waguespack today and is TBA tomorrow.

ULM is 4-3 after opening with two wins at home against Grand Canyon State and winning twice last weekend in a tournament at Nicholls State in Thibodaux where it defeated Western Illinois both times.

Included among the ULM losses is a 14-2 decision at home against Southern Miss.

Presently, the Warhawks are hitting just .223 with three home runs and 18 RBI.

While the team average is not inspiring, Jacob Stockton leads the Warhawks with a .348 average.

Pitching has been pretty good with a 3.09 team ERA.

ULM will throw sophomore RHP Alex Hermeling today. He has walked three but has not allowed an earned run in six innings.

Ole Miss leads the series 28-10-1. The Rebels won 10-4 and 8-3 in two games in Monroe last year. It’s possible the Rebels also enjoyed Johnny’s Pizza while in Monroe.
