I didn’t think Will Allen’s home run was definitely gone, and I wasn’t sure until I saw the celebration.

Allen finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He also had the two-run double to tie the game in the fourth-run fifth.

Allen also didn’t know it was gone right off the bat. His game-tying double in the fifth came on a 3-0 swing.

Auston Bousfield was 3-for-5, and Preston Overbey was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Some solid work out of the bullpen today from a couple of newcomers. Juco transfer Preston Tarkington entered with the go-ahead run at third in the eighth and got two big outs, one of them a check-swing strikeout to end the inning.

Freshman Wyatt Short pitched two innings of hitless, scoreless relief to get the win. He walked none and struck out two.
