Wednesday Practice Notebook

Just watching the quarterbacks today I was impressed with the accuracy of Jeremy Liggins in the net drill.

He’s had ups and downs in two days as you would expect. One of the ups today was a 50-something touchdown pass to Laquon Treadwell. Liggins lofted it with some touch to the end zone, and Treadwell went around a defender to get to the ball and make a play.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze liked the energy he saw overall. Here’s Freeze:

There were better throws from freshman Kendrick Doss today and some freshman moments too.

DeVante Kincade had an impressive deep ball caught by walk-on Caleb Luke over Chief Brown. Kincade followed that up with an impressive throw in the middle of the field to Q Mireless.

Most folks really like a dual threat quarterback, but if a guy like Ryan Buchanan develops and can complete passes at or near 70 percent then that’s how the offense moves up and down the field.

Maybe Kincade becomes that guy and offers both worlds. The race for No. 2 behind Bo Wallace is wide open, Freeze says.

Here’s video of transfer defensive lineman Fadol Brown:
