Cox named to SEC community service team

Demarco Cox has been named to the SEC’s men’s basketball community service team.

Here’s a list of volunteer opportunities Cox has been a part of: Held basketball clinic for local Boy’s and Girl’s Club … Participated in ‘Move Mississippi’ to promote combat child obesity by educating youth and parents about the benefits of physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle … Volunteered during the year at the Oxford Exchange Club Family Center … Participated in the ‘Reading with the Rebels’ program, where he visited local elementary schools to read to children.

This is the 16th year for the basketball community service team. All 21 league-sponsored sports have a community service team. The concept began with football in 1994.

Cox is a junior center from Yazoo City.
