Oher, McCluster, Sly and the Titans

Suddenly, the Tennessee Titans have a real Mississippi look about them.

According to a Baltimore Sun report, Michael Oher will join the Titans. He will then reunite with Dexter McCluster.

They will be on the same side of the ball as Titans running backs coach Sylvester Croom.

Oher and McCluster played pivotal roles — Oher on the offensive line, McCluster as RB/WR — on Houston Nutt’s 2008 team, which by the end of that season was playing some of the best football I’ve covered in Mississippi, a run that included a 45-0 win over MSU and Croom in what would be his last game as the Bulldogs’ coach.

None of the three are native Mississippians, but their names will be forever linked with the state’s two SEC schools.

It’s an interesting mix on an NFL team that’s relatively close by.

If Anthony Dixon will sign with Titans, he would join Dave “Big Country” Stewart, who plays RT and played for State..that’d be so cool…Titans would have 2 Sharks and 2 Bulldogs

I understand the Titans have CUT an MSU player from their team while adding These two stellar Ole Miss Alumni to their roster. I knew there was a reason I loved the TITANS! HOTTY TODDY in Nashville!

After 14 seasons, Dave “big country” Stewart is hanging up his cleats. The Titans have signed Oher to replace him…or at least try to. Oher is no where close to the athlete, Stewart is, but it was a very thin free agent market.

Oher was drafted by the Ravens to play LT, but failed miserably. Now he has somewhat gained ground at RT, which is where the Titans will use him. Titans will draft another RT , in case Oher doesn’t work.
