Summers, Henderson honorable mention AP All-SEC

Marshall Henderson, second-team All-SEC by The Associated Press a year ago, was named honorable mention, along with teammate Jarvis Summers, when the AP announced its All-SEC team today.

Henderson led the team with 19.0 points a game, while Summers added 17.1 Henderson shot 35.3 percent — 34.2 percent from 3 — while Summers shot 48.6 percent from the floor, 42.3 percent from 3.

Summers’ attempts were usually in the pain, Henderson’s usually from the arc.

Henderson attempted 377 3-point shots to Summers’ 111.

Makes you wonder if the Sharks would’ve won a couple more games if Hendershot would’ve shared the ball just a tad more. Most college players can shoot 36%. Two more wins would guarantee a NIT bid, if not a NCAA bid.

I highly doubt with 2 more wins the Rebs would be in the NCAA tourney. The issue this year was just too much youth in the post. It takes time to develop these guys. The positive note is that the whole team will be back minus Henderson. I don’t think a run at the tournament is out of the question next year at all.

Reports surfacing about Squidward’s interest in the vacant South Florida job. He didn’t deny, but did say it was “speculation”. Is this him saying yes by not saying no? Does he see the writing on the wall? If Ole Miss cans him now, they can get in on the Bruce Pearl sweepstakes.
