If Thursday was a night about heartbreak, then Friday was all about redemption for the Ole Miss Rebels. Their two heroes, junior center fielder Auston Bousfield and sophomore left-hander Christian Trent, were the catalysts in a 5-1 win over No. 7 LSU at Oxford-University Stadium.
Bousfield provided the offense, garnering four hits overall, and three RBIs against the Tigers, who won the series opener 4-3 in 13 innings on Thursday night. Trent, a former Tiger, was just as impressive on the mound. He logged seven innings of work, striking out five, and only allowing a run, which was unearned. Trent was praised by coach Mike Bianco for the way he mixed in his pitches against the Tigers, who only managed seven hits. Here are their interviews following the win. The first is Bousfield.
