Regional host update

There’s no question a series win against LSU would have been big for the Ole Miss resume.

As Ole Miss tries to make a run to regional host status LSU is one of the teams it’s competing against for what will likely be four SEC host spots.

The Rebels had already lost series to host hopefuls Alabama and South Carolina. They don’t have Florida on the schedule. They do have Kentucky, and that series is this weekend in Lexington.

With SEC games remaining the Rebels can really use a series win against one of the host hopeful teams.

After Kentucky they finish with Arkansas, Georgia and Texas A&M, all of which are currently on the outside of that discussion.

From the Mother Ship, today’s column takes a look at the lasting effects of the LSU series.

Ole Miss Vs Kentucky, the Wild Cats are the most heavy hitting club the SEC Rebels Pitchers will probably face their toughest foe here todate. Kentucky sweep the Gators , the Gators no push over with very good pitching.. Gators swept LSU and so far sweeping their instate rival FSU. On the other hand, Rebel have no worry of the Gators, as yet, but could see each
other down the road. SEC tournament or CWS.
