Wednesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Wednesday morning …

Getting back in routine today.

We spent Tuesday afternoon helping at Joyner School in Tupelo. Lots of trees down, houses damaged, in a neighborhood known for its natural beauty.

The school had plenty of water in one of its hallways, and restoration was under way later on Tuesday.

Arkansas baseball visits Ole Miss this weekend. Razorbacks coach Dave Van Horn says his group will need to be “Road Hogs” and play with a sense of urgency to earn a postseason berth.

That stretch of road games for the Razorbacks began last night at Missouri State in Springfield.

Ole Miss has one non-conference game this week, tonight at home against Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles defeated Ole Miss 5-3 in Pearl on March 25. …

Penn State coach James Franklin, formerly of Vanderbilt, tells The Tennesseean he’s “not interested in talking” about allegations from defense attorneys that he contacted the victim in last summer’s rape case. …

Former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, once the nation’s No. 1 recruit,¬†appears headed to FCS member Eastern Illinois to continue his career. …

Missouri didn’t fill its basketball vacancy with a big name but did get a local name. St. Louis columnist Bernie Miklasz says, “Give Kim a chance.”

New Texas coach Charlie Strong is looking for three things in his recruits …
