Ole Miss sports earn APR awards

Three Ole Miss women’s sports — cross country, golf and volleyball — have been honored by the NCAA for their Academic Progress Rates (APR). The awards are released in advance of the multi-year scores which will be released a week from today. The multi-year scores are used to determine whether schools will receive sanctions — possible loss of scholarships — for under-performing in the APR.

The women’s sports, achievements is about all Ole Miss have left to offer, except the women’s Rifle team and the Ole Miss baseball team. These are winners. We will be in the Oxford area this weekend to attend my wife’s family reunion at the Delay Baptist Church. That place will be loaded with Ole Miss fans and supporters. Ive got to talk baseball since I once did play on the Potlockney Creek baseball team. I was a Yankee at the time so those Ole Miss folk can easily relate.
