Making Progress

I visited with Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Matt Insell earlier this week to discuss his first season.

When hired a year ago, Insell became the fourth head coach in two  years for the Ole Miss women. It took players a while to buy into the stability he told them he and his staff would bring.

Ultimately that belief took hold, and that was evident in the team’s play at the end of the season, Insell said.

Now he’s hoping a signing class that could reach eight in number will improve depth and allow him to play more of the style — running, rebounding and defending — that he wants to play.
