Oxford looks dry on the radar as of this post. The forecast calls for the possibility of pop-up thunder showers. That may be workable for baseball this evening depending on where they pop up.
The Rebels have been strong offensively this season. Sikes Orvis predicts the offense will be strong to the finish and not tail off in these last six regular season games — or beyond.
Georgia has a team ERA of 4.12 which ranks 13th in the league, slightly ahead of Kentucky’s 4.15. Here’s the catch. Kentucky has been no better against the league, but Georgia really has. The Bulldogs have a team ERA of 3.60 in conference play. That’s eighth, right behind Florida’s SEC ERA of 3.59.
The larger problem for the Bulldogs in conference play has been that they’ve hit league pitching at only a .231 clip compared to .290 for Florida, and .299 for Ole Miss, which leads the league.
