Woodman SEC freshman of the week

Ole Miss outfielder J.B. Woodman has been named SEC baseball’s freshman of the week.

The Orlando, Fla., native drove in the tying run as part of a six-run sixth inning as Ole Miss defeated Texas A&M 8-4 in Game 1 of the final regular season series last Thursday.

Woodman then drove in the game-tying run Friday and scored the game-winning run in a 4-2 Rebels victory that clinched the series and a share of the SEC West title.

Woodman had two doubles and two triples for the week and is hitting .336 for the season, third on the team.
