OXFORD – Senior third baseman Austin Anderson became the most recent Rebel to garner All-America honors when he was named a Louisville Slugger All-America selection by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Thursday.

Anderson was a third team selection by the publication who releases an annual team in partnership with Louisville Slugger.

The senior captain helped Ole Miss post a 41-18 record on the season and claim the Southeastern Conference Western Division title with a 19-11 mark in SEC play. The Rebels are a one-seed and hosting an NCAA Regional for the sixth time in program history this weekend.

Anderson hit at a .329 clip for the season with 50 runs scored, four home runs and 39 RBI on the season. The senior has started all 59 games for the Rebels and moved to third base after starting the previous three seasons at shortstop.

He ranks among the league leaders in several offensive categories, including on base percentage (8th – .417), runs scored (6th – 50), hits (T5th – 76), doubles (T6th – 18) and total bases (T7th – 108).
