Ole Miss pitchers

Chris Ellis had a disappointing outing in the super regional. He stopped short of calling it his last, but third-round draft picks don’t often return to college.

Should he sign a pro contract, Omaha allows Ellis at least one more chance to pitch for Ole Miss. For that he’s grateful, and he hopes to respond by throwing strikes.

Christian Trent says not everything has sunken in yet for the Rebels, but he’s confident they will get past the “happy to be there” mindset and play baseball.

Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco says he’ll wait another 24 hours or so before naming a starting pitcher for the Rebels’ Sunday night CWS opener against Virginia but that it will definitely be Ellis or Trent.
