Orvis talks ULL, lost bats

Ole Miss first baseman Sikes Orvis didn’t seem bothered by the fact that his bat and some others were confiscated by the NCAA today.

All indications are this is a routine procedure. A ring is placed on the bat, and if the ring slides to the bottom the bat passes.

Orvis talks about the bats and also about super regional opponent Louisiana-Lafayette here:

I read that Orvis actually hit one out of Ameritrade Park in practice. Hope he can do it Sunday night when it counts. The Rebels have–undoubtedly–had the hardest matchups in this CWS quest. Beating the #1 team in the nation to get to Omaha and then having to play the #1 team right out of the gate. It doesn’t get any harder. I’m just happy they finally made it to the CWS. They are among the “Elite Eight” in college baseball….and ranked #4 this week.
