Summers Arrested

The Clarion-Ledger is reporting that Ole Miss basketball player Jarvis Summers was arrested in early June for driving 38 miles per hour faster than the posted speed on a campus street.

The report says Summers was driving more than 48 miles an hour on Manning Way, which runs near the football indoor practice facility, where the posted speed limit is 10 miles an hour.

After the officer discovered that Summers did not have a valid driver’s license, Summers was arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

“We were aware of the situation when it happened, and Jarvis has taken care of his responsibilities,” Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said in a statement.
