I had a nice conversation with Ole Miss defensive lineman Issac Gross last week. More on that later today. …

Greg Hardy’s behavior was sometimes bizarre at Ole Miss. The Rebels’ former defensive end is now a Pro Bowl player with the Carolina Panthers and is apologizing for being a distraction for his teammates with the start of the 2014 season coming on. Hardy was recently found guilty of domestic violence charges and is appealing that decision. …

An interesting SEC first for Auburn:

From Tuscaloosa, Ole Miss will start the 2014 season with a three-year starter under center, but Alabama is among the half of the SEC looking for a new quarterback. …

Speaking of quarterbacks, it looks like a close race at LSU where the winner could be a true freshman. …

Staying with the QBs and mixing in some law and order. From¬†¬†Nashville, the Roll Tide chants didn’t end for former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger when he was punched in the face by Alabama fan. Unfortunately, they got louder. …

While there may be a lack of big-name quarterbacks in the SEC this season, that isn’t the case at defensive end.
