Werner likes strong finish after slow start in opener

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

Dan Werner, Ole Miss’ co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, said a strong finish against Boise State was much better to see after such a slow start last week in the opener.

Werner talked to the media for the first time since evaluating the Boise State film and he said the first two quarters were not good. The third quarter was a little better, but it was obvious that only quarter that Werner felt comfortable with was the fourth when the Rebels scored 28 points.

Here is what else Werner talked about after Wednesday’s practice session, including his thoughts on Vanderbilt’s 3-4 scheme on defense.
