Tuesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

From the SEC, Sept. 27 football schedule, start times and TV. Ole Miss and Memphis at 6:30 on FSN. …

I was impressed with Kentucky through the first two weeks but was really withholding judgment until Week 3’s visit to the Swamp. Well, the Wildcats very nearly won at the Swamp, losing in three overtimes 36-30. You can argue the potential delay of game call against the Gators in the second quarter that might have swung things the Cats’ way.

Regardless of the outcome I think it’s clear that Kentucky is better and has more talent in the program.

Optimism from the bottom of the SEC isn’t limited to Kentucky. It’s spreading. More here from Mike Strange at KnoxNews.com.

From Seth Emerson of The Macon Telegraph, proof of the versatility of newspaper beat writers:

If Georgia coach Mark Richt had a do-over for that goalline opportunity against South Carolina he says he’d “hammer it” with Todd Gurley. Why the Bulldogs didn’t do that the first time has raised a lot of eyebrows …

Bret Bielema says the day is coming that the Hogs pass … at least a little bit more:

Lack of turnovers is a concern for Alabama’s defense could be a plus for Ole Miss in a couple of weeks if the trend continues. …

Hundreds of millions have been spent on the renovation of Texas A&M’s Kyle Field — at least the stadium. Now the turf, a grass surface, is coming under fire.

    Question PA:
Why didn’t Evan Ingram play against ULL? I went back and looked at the game stats and he was no where to be found. Is he injured or what?

It was an attitude thing. They thought he wasn’t as into it as they wanted. Unusual for him.
