Ole Miss’ hot streak on gaining verbal pledges continued Tuesday with the addition of its top target at middle linebacker.
Brookhaven’s Leo Lewis (6-foot-2, 238 pounds) continued to boost the Rebels’ 2015 signing class with his commitment, becoming the fourth player since Sept. 9 to pick the Rebels. He now gives the Rebels 13 commitments for the 2015 class.
Lewis is rated as the nation’s top inside linebacker by 247Sports, and the second best in the nation by Rivals.com. Lewis is considered a four star recruit by all the major recruiting services, including Scout.com, who has him rated as the seventh-best inside linebacker.
A call to Lewis’ cell phone seeking comment on his pledge to the Rebels was not returned. It was believed that Lewis wouldn’t make a call on a school until later in the year, or even as late as National Signing Day.
Lewis was a one-time Alabama commitment, who was heavily recruited by a bevy of schools, including Mississippi State and Auburn. Lewis pledged to the Crimson Tide during their spring game on April 19, and then de-committed from the Tide three months later.
Here are some Lewis’ highlights, provided by Hudl.com, from his junior season.
