It’s been a great three-game start for the Ole Miss defense, but it can be better, players say, if they get better at stopping the run more consistently.
Defensive coordinator Dave Wommack continued that theme when we spoke with him last night but did not seem overly concerned. He said some of the run success from has been a schematic thing in which he’s had Ole Miss defensive ends moving upfield more quickly than perhaps they should. He says when he instructs his ends to crash instead of get upfield that should help with run defense.
