SEC Power Rankings

I’m keeping A&M No. 1 but with an asterisk. Arkansas is clearly better but still making mistakes and re-learning how to win conference games. There was a good bit of sloppy tackling on both sides in that A&M-Arkansas game. While the Aggies were very impressive on opening night at South Carolina, that’s been the only game we’ve had to judge them with in a season that’s entering its sixth week. During that time South Carolina has given us reason to question the value of that win – at least a little bit. I’m thinking A&M can be had, and that might happen this week in Starkville. I’m keeping Alabama No. 2 because I’m not sure how good Florida is, and the Tide had its own mistakes in the first half against the Gators on Sept. 20. Missouri makes a move after winning at South Carolina. While the Gamecocks have been inconsistent that’s still a tough place to play and a nice bounce back for a Missouri team that just lost at home to Indiana.

I’m curious about moving Georgia above Auburn given this past week’s games. You have Tenn at 13 and Georgia struggled greatly with them at home.

Georgia struggled with Tennesse, but Auburn has had some issues against both Kansas State and La. Tech.
