Ole Miss, MSU share No. 3 in AP Top 25

When the votes were calculated Ole Miss and Mississippi State both came away with 1,320 points, and that tied them for No. 3 in this week’s AP Top 25.

For Ole Miss, it’s the highest ranking since — about an hour ago when the Rebels were ranked No. 4 in the Amway USA Today Coaches’ poll.

Ole Miss was No. 11 in both polls last week before its 23-17 comeback win over Alabama which was then ranked No. 3 by AP and No. 1 by the coaches.

MSU is No. 6 in the coaches poll.

Alabama dropped to No. 7 in both polls.

The Rebels play at Texas A&M Saturday night in a start time that has now been announced for 8 p.m. on ESPN.

After losing at MSU the Aggies dropped to No. 14 in both polls.
