Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones told media on Tuesday that he did not grab the facemask of Ole Miss running back I’Tavius Mathers. Sure looked like he did on replays given how Mathers’ head turned. At any rate, Mathers should have protected the ball better. He didn’t. Jones forced a fumble, picked it up and scored.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze would say later that he “felt like my heart got ripped out” by the play.

Luckily for the Rebels, Bo Wallace, Channing Ward, Senquez Golson and others were able to perform some heart surgery in the second half. …

Speaking of the Alabama game. Great video here of what looks like Alabama troopers and Mississippi troopers getting Nick Saban off the field and the one unfortunate fellow who tried to speak to Saban. He probably should have just dialed into the coach’s show. …

A strange but true story from Gainesville where campus police were called to break up fighting teammates outside the stadium. This comes after the news that freshman QB Treon Harris was accused of sexual assault and suspended. Harris led the Gators to a comeback win over Tennessee and likely would have started against LSU this week. …
