Friday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Friday morning …

Presumably, as this goes live I’ll be boarding a flight for Houston. I hope the WordPress automated teller is on top of her game today.

I am flying out of Birmingham and drove over to spend the night with a nephew. While crawling through traffic on I-65 I was greeted with this news.

I am looking forward to seeing college football at Texas A&M. I hope the experience off-sets the fact that this is the SEC’s most difficult road trip.

Newly expanded Kyle Field will be loud, and Ole Miss players talked about that a bit this week. This will be their first true road game of the season.

Moving on …

SEC news of the day on Thursday involved the suspension of Georgia tailback Todd Gurley which shakes up the SEC East race and the Heisman race at the same time. Georgia is at Missouri Saturday. …

Ole Miss running back Jaylen Walton weighs in on the Todd Gurley situation:

They do grow ’em some good tailbacks in Georgia, and they’ve got a good freshman there now in Nick Chubb. Remember this guy?
