Spanning the globe on a Monday morning …
Freeze and Friends begins at 12:30. I suspect we’ll hear some sort of injury update. Laquon Treadwell’s injury was terrible, unfortunate and no doubt painful, but there are a lot more injuries to talk about. …
The publisher of a University of Texas Rivals site has been suspended for his tweet about Ole Miss following the Auburn game. The tweet drew a response from Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork. …
This from Laquon Treadwell Sunday evening:
Injuries part of the game we love to play, god has a plan for everyone & with that plan come obstacles. Keep your faith & jump the hurdle!
This post-surgery shot of Treadwell was posted by @BHSpencer88:
This was posted to Dan Mullen’s official Twitter account early Sunday morning:
Prayers go out to @SuccessfulQuon
This was the lead to my notebook the week of Nov. 4 last year detailing how Hugh Freeze reached out to Dak Prescott via Twitter after the death of Prescott’s mother:
OXFORD – Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott learned of the death of his mother on Sunday and received support from his MSU family.
He got an encouraging word from one of his rivals as well.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze reached out to Prescott on Twitter late Sunday with this: “Very sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers from our Rebel family are with you.”
Prescott is at home in North Louisiana, and it’s not clear if he was aware of Freeze’s tweet. His own Twitter account does not show a response.
Freeze said he recruited Prescott while he was coaching at Arkansas State.
“I know him. I just think there are more important things than the game of football. As much as we all love it and are passionate about it, want to do well, and want to win and compete … ,” Freeze said. “There are times that there’s animosity between rivals, I get all of that. I understand it clearly, but at the end of the day, a young man has lost his mother. That’s a difficult task for anyone to go through.”
It’s good to see the coaches put the rivalry aside in times of personal tragedy among players and members of each program.
A little Booger commentary after Saturday night’s game:
Denzel Nkemdiche promises his return and posted this to social media Saturday morning. …
A proud Ole Miss alum here. I remember covering her at the Daily Journal Relays some time ago. She tore up the hurdles and other events too:
Enjoyed being on the panelist for Bridging the Gap at OLEMISS! Love my University and the opportunities it has given me! #Olemissrocks
Remember Harvey Updyke? Of course you do. Here’s just one more reason to keep your kids close to you while trick or treating:
I've decided just to go as a dead tree for Halloween, thanks Obama
A five-star running back recruit has Kentucky in the mix. His shirt says he doesn’t know where he’s going, but its colors say he might. …,
