Reclaiming the run game

The Ole Miss defense has been abused in the run game the last two weeks.

Now, it’s been abused by some very good offenses, but very good power run games are all the Rebels will face in their remaining SEC schedule against Arkansas and Mississippi State.

They will do it in different ways, but they’ll be good at what they do.

There have been multiple factors in the slip in run defense for Ole Miss.

From the Mother Ship, reclaiming the run.

Also in today’s edition, what would life without Jarvis Summers be like for Ole Miss basketball?

Andy Kennedy hopes he doesn’t have to answer that question this season. He did answer it in the preseason, and it involved transfers Stefan Moody and Terence Smith at the point. With new guys learning the ropes the Rebels didn’t always find rhythm on offense in their scrimmage at Middle Tennessee State.

Summers, who had been nursing a high ankle sprain for the better part of three weeks, was full go in practice this week and is expected to start tonight in the exhibition against Delta State.

Much more here in a basketball notebook.
