What makes coaches tick

That’s a question that may never be fully answered.

Let me begin by saying that I do not believe Hugh Freeze will be the coach at Florida next year. I believe he will still be coaching Ole Miss.

There are a lot of reasons for Freeze to be happy in Oxford, one of them being his compensation package.

When thoughts turn to the comings and goings of football coaches from one job to another the first thoughts often deal with money.

I don’t think that’s where Freeze is in his professional life. He’s got money, and he’s about to get more.

If I was being considered as the Gators’ next coach I would be intrigued by the available high school football talent in the state.

There are a lot of factors that go into these decisions for coaches, and that’s the subject of today’s column in the Mother Ship.
