Rebels flip MGCC CB Bridges from Auburn

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

It was another banner day for the Ole Miss Rebels on the recruiting trail as Mississippi Gulf Coast cornerback Tony Bridges flipped from Auburn Friday.

The 6-foot-2 Bridges was recently named to the MACJC All-State team after making 33 tackles, three interceptions and breaking up five passes. He returned one of the touchdowns for a score.

It’s the second huge pickup for head coach Hugh Freeze in as many days as Petal’s Javon Patterson picked the Rebels Thursday morning. Bridges, who can sign with Ole Miss in December and then enroll in classes in January, is the 15th verbal commitment for the Rebels in 2015.

Bridges not only gives the Rebels a veteran cornerback to help replace Senquez Golson after this season, but his addition helps bring the class ranking up to No. 21 in the nation.

    aren’t most touchdowns scores?

Bob…get in the spirit. A score is a touchdown, a touchdown is a score. :))
This is great recruiting news. Coach Freeze is doing extremely well with only 18 schollys to give. When you can produce a Top25 ranked recruiting class with limited schollys…that’s special.

Found this out last night visiting with my son-in-law Auburn fan. He didn’t like it much. Just smiled inside and said nothing. It has been a long time since it could be said about Ole Miss: They are just reloading!
