Kennedy seeing progress

It’s a big week upcoming for Ole Miss basketball with a Thursday home game against TCU, a Sunday road game at Oregon. Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy believes his team made some strides in neutral-site wins against No. 23 Creighton and Cincinnati over the Thanksgiving weekend.

There’s been plenty of talk the last year or so by many people wondering how much longer Kennedy has at OM and where the program needs to head after he is gone. I don’t necessarily think that’s a conversation that the fans or the administration should be asking ourselves right now. AK has fielded a fairly consistent winning program and conference contender the last few years. This season will be a year for this team and AK to prove that they can do it without Henderson.

I understand the frustration over struggling to go to the tournament over AK’s tenure. However, if we look at his body of work, he has taken a program with a long history of mediocrity on the court and apathy from the fanbase and turned it into a place where winning records and contending for tournament selection is expected. For that, I applaud him and hope that he continues to find success here at OM.
